Zip files in your browser.
Pick files or a whole folder and save them as one zip. Everything is compressed on your device, so nothing uploads.
Drop files or a folder here
Runs in your browser. Your files never leave this device.
Send the result with download.fyiHow it works
- Choose files, choose a folder, or drop either onto the box.
- Check the list. Remove anything you don't want in the zip.
- Select Save zip. The zip is built on your device and saved as it's made.
Folders keep their structure inside the zip. Photos, videos and other files that are already compressed are stored as they are, which is faster and makes no difference to the size.
Questions
- Do my files get uploaded?
- No. The zip is made by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
- Is there a size limit?
- Not one we set. Zips over 4 GB use the zip64 format, which every current operating system opens. The practical limit is your device's free space.
- Will zipping make my files smaller?
- Text, documents and spreadsheets usually shrink a lot. Photos, videos and music are already compressed, so they stay about the same size. Zipping still helps by turning many files into one.
- How do I send the zip to someone?
- Drop it on the download.fyi home page. You get a three-word link that streams it straight from your browser to theirs, at any size.
