ToffeeShare vs download.fyi

ToffeeShare works the way download.fyi's free sends do: the file goes straight from your device to theirs, nothing is stored, and the link dies when you close the tab. It's free, with no paid tier. For a live send the two are close; the difference is what happens when you can't stay online.

It's entirely free, with no paid tier at all. It's run from the Netherlands and stores no data.

Its Android app, still in development, keeps sharing after you close the app, as long as the phone is on and online. In a browser, on either service, you have to keep the tab open. There's a Windows app too.

Nearby mode connects devices on the same network with a QR code or a 4-digit code, much like our Nearby.

Short links. A download.fyi link is three words, so it's easy to read out or type on a phone.
