Where Send Anywhere is better
Apps for nearly everything: Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux, plus Amazon Kindle, Chrome and Whale extensions, Outlook and WordPress.
On Android it can send over Wi-Fi Direct with no internet connection at all.
A 6-digit key is quick to type on another device, and free share links keep working for 48 hours after you leave.
Where download.fyi is better
No size cap. Free share links stop at 10 GB and keys at 50 GB. A live download.fyi link has no cap.
No monthly allowance. Since March 2023, a free Send Anywhere account can have 10 GB a month downloaded from its links.
Nothing to install on either side. Receiving a key on a phone needs the app; a download.fyi link opens in any browser.
A pass keeps the file online for 14 days (up to 100 GB, $5) or 30 days (up to 500 GB, $9), paid once. Free Send Anywhere links last up to 48 hours.
Which to pick
Pick Send Anywhere if you move files between your own phones and computers a lot and want an app on each, or need to send with no internet on Android. Pick download.fyi for big files to other people, with nothing to install.
